West Women & Children's Shelter

Background:  The West is a domestic violence shelter, which handled 4,636 crisis calls in 2012.  The shelter can house 60 residents at one time, and throughout 2012 a total of 244 women & children stayed there.  In addition, 67 women & children had their lives stabilized in transitional housing, mostly apartments, provided by the shelter. 32, 850 meals were provided and 150 food boxes were delivered to survivors out in the community.

 

Small gift suggestions for women in the shelter;  gift cards, bus passes, movie passes, flashlights, umbrellas, sewing kits, mascara and lip gloss, lotions etc. as well as scarves, gloves, & warm hats.  Monetary donations also welcome with checks made out to:

 Salvation Army West Women & Children's Shelter.

 Multnomah Falls Lodge

I had so much fun painting right in front of Multnomah Falls Lodge this last weekend!  Many thanks to the West Columbia Lodge  Chamber of Commerce Fall Foliage Studio Tour, Multnomah Falls Lodge staff, the many kind & encouraging onlookers, & last but certainly not least Lorang Fine Arts.  

I'm painting at Multnomah Falls Lodge this weekend as a part of the West Columbia Gorge Chamber of commerce Fall Foliage Studio Tour.  It is so beautiful in the Gorge...come and visit or see my work anytime at Lorang Fine Art.
